St Peter and St Paul’s Church,

Syston,  Leicestershire

Hello and a warm welcome to St Peter and St Paul’s website!

The official title of our church is the Anglican Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, Syston, in the Deanery of Goscote II, in the Diocese of Leicester. However, locals know us as St Peter and St Paul’s (much less of a mouthful!)There's been a church on the same site for over 900 years, so we have a long history of service to our local community.

We are part of a Team of seven parishes with eight churches lying north of the city of Leicester and to the east of the ancient Roman road the Fosse Way. The team is called The Fosse Team and includes the parishes of Barkby, East Goscote, Queniborough, Rearsby, Ratcliffe-on-the-Wreake, Syston, Thrussington and Thurmaston.

Our experience is that God invites people to serve in a wide variety of ways regardless of age, gender, orientation or background, so we see no problem with women as priests. We're passionate about the scriptures, their interpretation and their application to our lives as individuals and as a community.

There's loads more to say, but this is only the opening page!

If you're in the area and you want to join us there are several options. Every Sunday there’s a quiet, reflective mass at 8.00am and our main (sung) mass is at 10.00am. Then, at 11.30am on the first and third Sunday of every month, there is an informal service for all the family with songs, prayers, activities and refreshments. Whichever service you come to – you will be very welcome.
